Healing Center / School

The center was created in 1990 by maestro Don Juan Tangoa Paima. It is located in Don Juna's own house, in the ciry of Iquitos, in the Peruvian Amzon.
It is open to everyone in the world who wants to experience Ayahuasca ceremonies, to be healed and to learn this healing science.

Don Juan has created this healing center with the goal of making available to the world the ancient wisdom of healing and passing along this knowledge. Sadly, in these times, the traditional practitioners of this beautiful science are rapidly disappearing, along with the wealth of their experience; few here are now willing or able to train in the old ways.

Healing is available for all kinds of physical and mental illnesses, even the most serious, know and unknow. The great teacher plant Ayahuasca and other totally natural plant remedies are used, along with special diets. We treat the causes of illness, not just the symptoms, as in other "healing modalities". This means removing/fixing the root cause(s) of the problem and cleansing the body, mind, and spirit of impurutues.

Apprenticeship with Ayahuasca is process of healing, helping to connect deeply to one's inner self as well as to nature, the cosmos, and the spirit world. One learns about Ayahuasca, how it grows and how to grow, its preparation and how to use it to heal with mental strength and divine power. One also gets to know many other medicinal plants of the Amazon.

Our school follows the ancient pattern: living with the teacher, without timetables or classes as are found in western schools, learning by waching him work and asking questions before starting to work alongside him. Students learn at their own pace, depending on their abilities and motivation; this is why an apprenticeship can start at any time.

We drink Ayahuasca once or twice a week, depending on need, normally on Tuesday and Saturday nights.

We also have a camp in the jungle, where it is possible to drink Ayahuasca in its natural setting. This camp comprises about 20 hectares of virgin woodland and is well suited for camping the whole time that is needed for healing or apprenticeship.
